If so, the Newman Name Society is dedicated to preserving Newman Family History and establishing Newman Genealogies.
The society produces four newsletters per year. The Newman Chronicle is published each April, and October. whilst a smaller Bulletin version is published each January and July.
The Newman Genealogical Register includes details of all known Newman genealogical research, and a revised edition is published each year. The society has additional plans for future publications.
A CD containing Newman Census material and Overseas Births, Marriages and Deaths and other information, in PDF format, will be sent to all new members of the Newman Name Society. PDF files can be read by Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free program available as a download from www.adobe.com".
Research
Although the society cannot actually undertake research on behalf of its members, we do collect and catalogue Newman research data and this data is accessible to the membership on an ‘at cost’ basis.
Members family trees and charts are routinely appraised for coincident lines of descent. Newman genealogical enquiries are welcomed for publication in the society newsletters.
Membership
Membership is open to all with an interest in any aspect of the Newman name, whether through lineage or otherwise. Subscriptions may be paid by cheque, money order or by Paypal. The current membership fees are:
$12 (Australian)
£6 (U.K & Eire)
$11 (Canada)
$11 (U.S.A.)How do you pay by PayPal? It is easy if a member already holds an individual PayPal account. They need to login and then use UK Secretary Graham Newman’s email address: newmangraham@btinternet.com.
Although the account is in the name of the NNS the access is via this email address. If a member does not have a PayPal account they will need to open a personal account first and they must have a credit card which will be debited with the payment. The member's credit card will only be debited once Graham has confirmed that the payment is to be made.
The benefit for the Society in using this method of payment is that the payment can be made in sterling so there is no bank commission when any money is transferred to the UK. The small handling fee for each credit is less than the banks charge in exchange rates.
If paying by cheque or money order, please tender your membership subscription in one of the above currencies, to the appropriate Subscription Officer:
